These chicks are flown direct to Homer so they arrive at our store between 24 and 36 hours after hatch, compared with the 60-72 hours through the post office.  This gives them a much higher survival rate.

We at Dunlap's are introducing the Mocha Maran as a comparable breed to our Copper Rock Maran (currently unavailable). This breed is also known as Novogen’s Color Chocolate and was developed to have dark chocolate brown eggs. Novogen has been developing strong genetic traits in poultry since the late 1990s. All of their breeds have been created using well-known, heritage varieties. The Mocha Maran is a cross between Novogen’s bloodline of Rhode Island Red hen and their French Black Copper Maran rooster. This combination creates a beautiful bird with rustic or reddish-brown tones paired with a darker brown to black body. They are known to adapt well to all living environments. Chicks are able to be color sexed, guaranteeing near 100% gender accuracy. Due to the cross some may develop feathered legs while others will not. Overall, the Mocha Maran provides a vibrant colored bird, high laying efficiency, and a unique egg color to add to your flock. If you’re looking to impress with a colorful egg basket, the Maran is a must have staple for any backyard.
