This beautiful hellebore was selected by the breeder for its vigorous growth rate, uniform crop production, and compact, upright habit. Unlike hellebores from seed, at least 85% will bloom the first year after vernalization.
From late winter through mid-spring, rich burgundy-pink buds open to beautiful ivory blossoms which take on rose and chartreuse tones as they age. They are outward facing and open flat for best display.
This selection has particularly attractive dark green foliage with silver veining which remains compact as it matures.
Ivory Prince has consistently come back in our area on the Kenai Peninsula. It's evergreen foliage is quite a joy to behold as the snow melts and the blooms are soon to follow. It will bloom all summer and into the fall for us.
