Sold as 1-5 day old chicks
Named after being showcased at the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, Illinois 1893, this is an exceptional dual-purpose bird. This breed is semi broody, docile, disease resistant, and likes to free range. They are cold hardy due to size and having rose combs but need shade coverage in the hotter months. On average the Columbian takes a month or two longer to lay, but they are more consistent layers throughout the entire year. Chicks come in varying degrees of gray/black with yellow. The darker tones are typically more prevalent in the body while the yellow is more in the face and underbelly. On extremely rare occasions a chick will come out solid yellow. They also have yellow legs.
