The Blue Swedish are a large calm duck, similar in size to the Rouen and are very hardy. In breeding it is tricky to keep the blue coloring prevalent. If you breed a Blue Swedish to a Blue Swedish, half will stay blue while a quarter will turn more black and the other quarter a lighter silver gray.
