About Us

Prairie Micro Tech Inc. (PMT) is a Canadian family owned and operated wholesale business. We started in 1980 as the first independent micro-premix manufacturer in Western Canada; quality and customer satisfaction laid the cornerstone for our progress. We soon recognized industry needs were changing and PMT became a “one stop shop” providing customers with micro premixes, new & innovative ingredients while our highly knowledgeable Nutritionists developed a full line of milk replacers! Not long afterward our second facility in Kitchener, Ontario began production of PMT’s Wet Nurse™ Milk Replacer line. Next up was expanding production of micro-premixes in Abbotsford, British Columbia to accommodate our customer’s in Asia Pacific.

PMT launched Essentials Inc. in Abbotsford, BC as another strategic addition to provide the industry with consistent, reliable flavours and sweeteners addressing palatability issues and providing locally grown solutions manufactured right here in Canada. Together we create, manufacture and sell our products across Canada, the US, and Internationally.
